5 Days of Fun Itinerary
Enjoy Owatonna during its summer 5 Days of Fun, usually held the last full weekend in July!
Day One - Wednesday
5 PM:
Check-in 1 of 11 prime lodging properties in Owatonna for the beginning of your hometown festival fun in Owatonna!
6 PM:
Drive your antique or collector car up and down the main drag of downtown Owatonna for a "drive-in" car show & ice cream social in Central Park. Enjoy the sounds of the ‘staged in Owatonna's Central Park Bandshell.
Day Two - Thursday
7 AM - 7 PM:
Get up early to catch the best deals during downtown Owatonna's Crazy Days Sidewalk Sales. Grab a cup of coffee and sweet roll at one of the great downtown coffee shops as you make your way to Central Park to watch for the Kiddie Parade. Enjoy music, food vendors, shopping, kid's games and rides throughout the day.
7 PM:
Pack your lawn chair for an open air concert in the Central Park Bandshell to round out your afternoon & evening in Owatonna. Grab some fresh popped popcorn while the Owatonna Community Band has you tapping your toes to the beat!
Day Three - Friday
10 AM:
Visit the State School Orphanage Museum, the largest school of its kind ever operated in Minnesota from 1886-1945. Relive history through pictures, artifacts and personal stories by the orphans who were raised at the Orphanage.
Noon:
Catch lunch downtown at one of the quintessential cafes or try another treat from the food vendors in Central Park.
1 PM:
See the National Farmer's Bank Historic Landmark, designed by world-renowned architect Louis Sullivan. Highlights include stained glass windows, gold leaf arches, chandeliers weighing 2.25 tons each, and murals
2 PM:
Imagine life of the Minnesota pioneer as you walk among the 15 buildings on site of the Steele County Historical Society's Village of Yesteryear. A tour guide will lead you through your step back in time.
3:30 PM:
Enjoy Owatonna's beautiful parks and trails as you meander your way back to your hotel to freshen up for your night out in Owatonna!
5:30 PM:
Head back downtown for Owatonna's Hog Roast and Street Dance. Your meal ticket includes your pork dinner and admission to hear local artists!
Day 4 & 5 - Saturday & Sunday
9 AM - 5 PM:
Gather again in downtown Central Park for Owatonna's Festival of the Arts and Farmer's Market. Over 50 local and regional artists gather for this annual celebration of arts and culture in Owatonna's town square.
