Outdoorsman Tour

In Minnesota, there is always something to do outside! Owatonna offers the ease and accessibility to all outdoorsman activities, seasonally.

Day One

Cabela's is the largest fishing, hunting and outdoor gear store in the Midwest. With nearly four million visitors a year, it is the second most popular tourist attraction in Minnesota. In 2011 the store underwent a $5.5 million remodel, which added an additional 10,000- square feet of retail space, a new archery range and tech shop and a new boat showroom. Cabela's also offers an educational center that celebrates the outdoors and the men and women who enjoy it and a park-like restaurant serving outstanding deli-style fare (including elk and bison), that brings the great outdoors, indoors.

Take in the fresh air in a beautiful setting of Mineral Springs Park Disc Golfing Course. Enjoy the challenge and excitement of combining personal skill and speed to project an object toward a target.

Enjoy Owatonna's beautifully manicure links at one of our three golf courses. Enjoy Brooktree Golf Course's 18-hole championship holes featuring 6,684 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 72.5 and it has a slope rating of 128 on blue grass. The course offers golf carts and a putting green. Havana Hills Golf Course is a 9-hole, par 3 course featuring all the hallmarks of Minnesota golf. Designed by Dean Hartle, the golf course opened in 1972 and includes golf carts, a driving ranges and putting green. The Owatonna Country Club is a private 18-hole facility with a ‘call for playing privileges' guest policy. The course offers golf carts, a driving range and putting green.

Day Two

Rise and shine and discover Owatonna's Parks and Trails for a brisk walk through Kaplan's Wood's or enjoy the sights and sounds of Lake Kohlmeier. Kaplan's woods Parkway is the city's most popular recreation area, filled with 225 acres of hiking, biking, jogging, inline skating and cross country skiing paths. Steele County, Buxton & Muckle Trails is Owatonna's multiple use trail system created to provide a variety of recreational opportunities for city residents and visitors.
